Learning the Qur'an is not only a matter of correct recitation. From the first lesson, a student is also learning patience, humility and respect: for the text, for the teacher and for fellow students.

The scholars of the Ahlulbayt (a.s.) taught that knowledge without good character is incomplete. In class this shows in small ways. A student who waits for their turn to recite, who accepts correction without embarrassment, and who helps a classmate find the right verse is practising akhlaq as much as Tajweed.

At the college, teachers make room for this in every lesson. A few minutes are given to the meaning of the verses being recited, and to how they apply to the way we live.

The aim is simple: that a student leaves not only reciting more beautifully, but living more beautifully too.
